The brief for this project was to create a new utility space and open up the kitchen to the garden. What was proposed was an extension that focused the views across the corner plot garden but also shielded the clients from a new development next door. Two gables were created to house a new open plan kitchen dining room with vaulted ceiling for entertaining and a new home office. With the proposal being in a Conservation Area, a juxtaposing palette of materials was used to differentiate the extension from the existing house. By moving the kitchen dining room into the extension the existing kitchen space was used for the new utility room.
"James went above and beyond for us on our recent extension to our house. He listened to what we wanted out of our home and then designed something which was much better than our original plan. He was very helpful throughout the project, particularly when coming up with solutions to problems. James was very happy to come out at multiple stages of the project to check on the work, was very reponsive when we had questions about the way our builder was doing things, and helped to clear up issues with Building Control. We would absolutely recommend JETArch Design to anyone undertaking construction work, big or small."
