This project looked at creating a new family dwelling by replacing an old 1970s house with a sustainable, highly insulated house designed in a neo-classical style. The house includes 7 bedrooms, a great room as an open plan kitchen/dining/living space, and a basement including a professional home cinema, gym and bar.

The new dwelling incorporates elements of sustainability and energy efficiency, reflecting a commitment to responsible development practices. By being highly insulated and using a form of prefabrication, the dwellings adopt a “fabric first approach” that keep emissions low and enable the dwellings to take advantage of renewable energy sources such as solar panels and solar assisted heat pumps by achieving a near Passivhaus standard.

As the proposal is in designated countryside, the project had to comply with all national, local and neighbourhood planning policies for a new dwelling.
